Our dorpers are raised with care and attention on a local family farm right here in sunny southern Alberta!
We chose this breed specifically for their easy care, resilience and poundage. As an added benefit its also the best lamb meat you’ll ever taste! The absence of lanolin glands lends itself to the tasty, delicate and lightly flavourful meat.
They are fed a combination diet of hay and grain for their entire life and this lends itself to a well-marbled meat that doesn’t taste gamey! Always butchered between 6-10 months of age, this prevents the meat from getting tough and affected by natural hormones.
